For over 15 years the Rotary Clubs of Northallerton
(District 1040) and Darlington (District 1030) have combined to organize
an annual Young Musician of the Year competition.
Although initially conceived
only for pianists, since the mid-1990's it has encompassed classes for
orchestral strings and woodwind/brass as well.
Youngsters aged from 10 to 18 compete in 3 different age groups throughout the day, and the 9 finalists play in a Gala Final the same evening. |
